The prestigious ‘Ma Padak’ has been conferred on the mothers of showbiz artistes and journalists for the second time. The award ceremony, initiated by journalist Ovi Moinuddin and presented by Royal Café, held at the Annex Hall of Bengal Blu Berry Hotel in Gulshan of the capital on Saturday (13 May).
Legendary singer-composer of the sub-continent, Runa Laila, attended the event as the chief guest on Saturday, a day before Mother’s Day. Presided over by the general secretary of the Ali-Rupa Foundation, Abdul Haq, the managing director of Proyash Group, Prodyut Kumar, was also present as the special guest.
At the beginning of the award distribution ceremony, veteran actress Dilara Zaman was honoured with special ‘Ma Padak 2023’ for her significant contribution to the country’s acting world.
This year, at the second edition of the award ceremony, ‘Ma Padak 2023’ was conferred on the following mothers: Arjuda Khan (mother of film actor Amin Khan), Bilkis Nazim (mother of actor Shahriar Nazim Joy), Juthika Akter (mother of actress Deepa Khandakar), Mahbuba Hasan Khan (mother of actress Nowrin Hasan Khan Jenny), Khairun Nahar (mother of actor Arifin Shuvoo), Purnima Paul (mother of actress Jyotika Jyoti), Momotaz Begum (mother of Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir), Jesmin Akter (mother of film actress Shobnom Yesmin Bubly), Sultana Begam (mother of journalist Moin Abdullah), Mohosina Hasnat (mother of three sister, Nasrin-Fahmida-Taslima), Mrs. Morshida Begum (mother of singer Muhin Khan), Nargish Sultana (mother of singer Sania Sultana Liza), Dil Afroza Amin (mother of news presenter Ishrat Amin), Feroza Begum (mother of Kazi Tofazzal Hossen), Deluara Begum (mother of Ali Aftabh Bhuyan), Ayesha Akter (mother of FI Dipu) and Shireen Akter (mother of film actress Nazifa Tushi).
