He took five wickets for just 31 runs, contributing significantly to Sri Lanka’s loss by a massive margin of 198 runs. Sri Lanka was bowled out for a mere 76 runs while chasing New Zealand’s total of 274 runs.

New Zealand’s triumph in the match helped them secure a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Sri Lanka’s chances of qualifying for the next World Cup have become more challenging after this defeat.
